Formic World Sketches

I did a number of sketches for different designs of the Formic home world to find something that we liked. I first attempted to the planet in a low orbit around a gass giant, but that design felt too similar to that in Avatar. We continued playing with designs until we settled on the one with the Saturn-like ring around it. I removed the ring and did a final image of the planet, which you can see at the bottom.
